We went home for the weekend. The family had planned a picnic for the celebration of my mother-in-law's birthday. Sooo I made a pie! I wish I would have taken a picture of it sliced. It had red, white and blue stripes of jello and whipped cream. It was really really good! We left at 5am or so to get there soon enough to prepare for the picnic.

The picnic was a blast. It is was like a family reunion! haha! Lots of food and family and friends.

We had a family barbecue and Tyler's sister, Brittany, and I worked really hard on these cake ball pops. We had such a hard time keeping the chocolate the right consistency. But they tasted great....oh! and btw, we stuck them in the foam we used from my mother-in-law's fake plant haha!
Then on 4th of July morning we went to a ward breakfast! It was really good! I loved it! There were lots of people that came.
After we all took our showers and were ready, we went to the Middleton parade. We had lots of fun there. The kids loved getting the candy of course. Tyler got to go to the "wet zone" where the firefighters take their hose and spray everybody. After the parade, we went and got free snow cones. I think I ended up having, like, 3! Ha! I love snow cones!
Then in the evening we went to the Melba fireworks show. I was able to briefly see my family, and then the show started. The fireworks were so beautiful. I loved getting to spend it with my hubby. :) The traffic was awful getting out of there though. It took us about an hour and a half to get out of little old Melba.

It was a super fun trip. It was the first time I got to meet Tyler's older sister, Brittany and her husband and kids. We had lots of fun bonding and I loooved getting to spend time with their kids!! :D
It was such a fun weekend! Glad we finally got to meet you officially. Oh and just for future reference Kiera's name is spelled with 1 "r"
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all the fun photos and comments. Looks like everybody had a great time! Pam and I went to the Melba fireworks last year at the Tanks suggestion and parked about a mile north of Melba, so the traffic wasn't so bad.
ReplyDeleteThis year we went to the Meridian show. We were pleasantly surprised to find parking 20 minutes before the show in a perfect spot. We sat in the Meridian cemetery with about 50 people and had a perfect view. The finale was the best each of us had ever seen!!

ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good time in Meridian! I think that weekend totally messed up my body clock haha cause we got up early every day and now I can't sleep in as late as I could before. But that's a good thing. :)
